Racing one of your friends, around the Nurburgring, in well-matched cars is probably the most fun you could possibly have behind the wheel of a car. When you own a modified BMW 328i E36, and your friend is behind the wheel of a race-prepped Renault Clio Mk2, then the actual race should be interesting.
The Renault Clio, driven by Darren Langeveld of Ringweeks and Destination-Nurburgring, was able to keep the lightly modified BMW 328i at bay, being just as quick in the corners, but leaving it in its wake on the straights, where it just powers ahead. Of course, weight plays a major part here, and the BMW, despite being modified by its owner, Youtube user ‘nurburgdale’, still has a massive weight disadvantage over the nimble little French hatchback.
We have also linked another onboard video from the 328i, this time on its own, with its owner showing some really impressive driving skill. He managed to do a 8:28 lap time - a more than impressive feat.
