While we wait for the Prancing Horse to come up with a replacement for the LaFerrari, the rendering realm can help us look into the past of the Italian marque in the attempt to dream about its future. So, without further ado, I give you a pixel painting showcasing a Ferrari F50 that has been brought to contemporary design standards.
At times, it feels like the F50 doesn't receive 100 percent of the love it deserves, especially when certain gearheads talk about the F40 making for a wilder proposal. However, the digital stunt that now sits before us is all about refinement.

Perhaps the most important transformation of this virtual update comes from the roof - instead of the original targa top, the Fezza is now a full coupe. So not only does its roof line change, but it also gets an extra set of side windows, while the angle of its rear window was also touched.

While we're in this area of the V12 toy, we must also mention the redesigned engine cover, albeit with this appearing to offer a more limited perspective compared to the original. Oh, and the wing has received subtle touches.

The posterior remains clean, while the refreshed elements include the light clusters, the massive grille and, of course, the lower fascia. This is where we find a massive diffuser.

No such transformation would be complete without the presence of a fresh wheel design and sleeker door mirrors and we can thank digital label j.b.cars for adding these elements.

Meanwhile in the real world, Maranello is expected to deliver its next halo car after 2022. And while previous rumors talked about a hybrid powertrain and a four-digit output number, this might not be the case.

Since the current battery technology means adding serious weight for a noticeable electric boost, the Italians might skip this for their upcoming top dog, leaving a future evolution of the company's naturally aspirated V12 to do the work.

However, a focus on lightness could allow the hypercar to not only reduce emissions, but also show improvements on all dynamic fronts.
