Renault might be working on an interesting and fun little car, as seen in this footage captured while the TwinFun (or TwinRun) Concept was shooting for a commercial in Madrid.
Seeing the videos, we notice that the car is pretty tail-happy, blacked out rear windows (so you can’t see what lies in there) and a roll-cage, which sends us thinking it is rear-wheel drive and might have a mid-mounted engine. It also has center dual exhaust pipes, roof-mounted spoiler and racing seats.
If this is true, then Renault is making a modern day reinterpretation of the 80s Renault 5 Turbo supermini, which had a mid-mounted turbocharged 1.4-liter engine making 160 PS (158 hp) and 221 Nm (163 lb-ft) of torque. The car was rear wheel driven and had a curb weight of just 970 kg (2.138 lb).
