Swedish automaker Volvo has unveiled the R-Design versions for the freshly updated S60, XC60 and V60 models at the 2013 New York International Auto Show.
The three Volvos have taken the Polestar performance appearance road with new "dynamic, expressive nose" including a frameless Tech Matte Black grille, unique diffused with aero fins and R-Design tailpipes at the back.
The interior has been enhanced using new R-Design sport seats, "a blend of black nubuck textile and perforated leather" and embroidered R-Design logos. For those who sport seats aren't exactly a must, full leather seats are available as an option.
Volvo claims that the new R-Design Sport chassis, which has lowered the S60 and V60 models by 15 millimeters, will offer a "sporting yet luxurious feel" through highly-responsive and dynamic driving. As far as the 3.0-liter T6 engine is concerned, the Polestar performance option raises the output by 25 HP to 329 HP.
"The new R-Design models are a perfect match for performance-minded individuals with a passion for exquisite details. In the new S60, V60 and XC60 R-Design, we have turned up the visual volume of these popular models with meticulous attention to detail," says Doug Speck, Senior Vice President Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Car Group.
