Another record sale is shaking things up in the always-dynamic superyacht market, although the financial details are kept under wraps. One of the most spectacular pedigree superyachts launched in the last five years just changed hands for the first time since its debut in 2019.

Madsummer's new owner is still mysterious, even though it's practically impossible to stay out of the spotlight when you own something of this magnitude. Until now, the 2019 Lurssen was famously associated with its billionaire owner, the US real estate mogul Jeffrey Soffer.

Soffer is well-known in the media for his lavish lifestyle and liaisons with gorgeous celebrities, most notably his ex-wife, supermodel Elle McPherson. Tom Brady also happens to be his old buddy, who was spotted onboard the fabulous Madsummer more than once.

You'd have to be Tom Brady (or David Beckham) to afford one week onboard Soffer's former luxury toy. Weekly rates start at $1.8 million, making this one of the most expensive charter superyachts on the market.

Considering these charter rates, Madsummer's new owner must also be a billionaire. Although the sale was conducted in-house, without disclosing the final price, Soffer's floating mansion was said to be worth somewhere around $250 million. Even though the sale price is not public, it's safe to say that this transaction goes right at the top of this year's pre-loved superyacht sales.

Like most superyacht owners, Soffer is a serial yacht owner, most likely gearing up to add an even more stunning toy to his collection. He had owned previous luxury pleasure craft prior to Madsummer, some of which carried the same name. He reportedly owns a smaller 30-meter (98 feet) Sunseeker, conveniently "parked" behind his jaw-dropping residence in Miami. A larger 180-footer (55 meters) Feadship was also tied to the real estate tycoon.

Madsummer tops everything he's owned in terms of sheer size and luxury. At 312 feet (95 meters), this enormous vessel looks more like a private cruise ship. It can accommodate up to 20 guests across ten luxurious suites, and each suite flaunts a different theme and color palette.

Born from the hands of two acclaimed names in the industry – Harrison Eidsgaard and Laura Sessa Romboli, Madsummer is every bit a billionaire's dream boat. The outrageous onboard amenities include a dazzling 12-meter (39-foot) swimming pool with glass walls, a separate jacuzzi, a helipad, a cinema room, and a full-size gym. The yacht's water toys are no less luxurious, including a fabulous 11-meter (36-foot) limo tender by Maori Yachts.

Like all Lurssen vessels, Madsummer is more than an ultra-luxurious pleasure craft, it's a design masterpiece. Its futuristic design with bold features reveals a frosted walk-on skylounge on the main deck and a second skylounge on the upper deck, with an integrated fireplace.
