Mercedes Rocks Internet Auto Awards

Browser, browser on the web, who's the googled of them all? Mercedes Benz, of course... The German manufacturer announced today that three of its models were honored by the huge online automobile marketplace called AutoScout24 with three first places following what was Europe's largest public Internet survey.

Mercedes Benz was chosen by most of the 230,000 participants from seven countries from a huge batch of 343 competing vehicles. Two of its models, the SLS AMG and the R-Klasse, managed to prove their worth by being voted Europe's most popular cars.

The supercar, which was at the center of the public attention this past year, topped the survey in the super sports car and coupe categories, while the R-Klasse was chosen by the European consumers' most popular vehicle in the van and compact van category.

But that's how the Europeans in general see these cars. The Germans in particular seem to like the three-pointed star brand even more and chose the C-Klasse as the most popular vehicle in the medium-size category and the E-Klasse in the intermediate category. Furthermore, the E-Klasse Cabriolet was chosen the most popular car in the cabrio category.

This is the ninth time AutoScout24 asks the European customers what cars they like. Of course, there are much more winners in the entire competition, including the Fiat 500 TwinAir and the Opel Astra Sports Tourer.

The classes voted by the users were Small cars, Compact cars, Medium-sized, Top-end medium-sized, Luxury classes, Vans and compact vans, Offroad and SUVs, Convertibles as well as Sports cars and Coupes.
