Iacoski Design has speculatively rendered the next McLaren F1, which is being tested under the codename P12 and could be revealed as early as this month.
The renderings combine design elements from the current MP5-12C supercar, with which the hypercar is expected to share the 3.8-liter engine and the carbo fiber tub. But the new model should come with more out-of-the-ordinary elements, such as an air scoop on the roof.
Powering the P12 is expected to be a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 in combination with some sort of electric drivetrain that draws its energy from a KERS system (Kinetic Energy Recovery System).
The car is expected to be built as a technological showcase in a run of about 300 to 500 units.
