McLaren F1 Successor Details Surface, Coming in 2014

Unofficial reports indicating that a McLaren F1 successor is under development have been around for quite a while and now a new one has surfaced, indicating that the Brits have started testing the vehicle in preparation of its 2014 market entry.
According to autocar, the vehicles aims to dominate the hypercar world when it arrives, just like the F1 did back in its day, which means that it will have to outperform vehicles like the Ferrari Enzo successor and the Porsche 918 Spyder.

The car will be powered by a new forced induction 5.0-liter V8 unit that is being developed together with Ricardo and should offer 800 hp at 7,500 rpm ans a peak torque of 590 lb-ft between 3,500 and 6,800 rpm. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed Graziano dual-clutch gearbox.

The vehicle, which will receive an alphanumeric designation just like the MP4-12C, will use a carbon fiber monocell, also like the latter car. It will use state-of-the art technologies, such as adaptive dampers, aluminum push-rod suspension and hydraulic rollbars.

The straight line performance should be something like 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.8 seconds and 0 to 200 mph (320 km/h) in 20 seconds. The stopping power should be just as impressive, as the car will use a Brembo carbon-ceramic system.

AS for the exterior, it seems that the company has noticed certain critics brought to the MP4-12C's emotionless design and will change things, as well as bring active aerodynamic elements.
