We know that the luxury supercar segment is overpriced in Australia due to taxes and import fees. Now, McLaren wants to change the perception over that idea, by cutting the price of its MP4-12C and 12C Spider models by up to 20 percent.
A recent press release claims that McLaren Australia wants to get rid of customers that need to negotiate with the automaker in order to achieve a discount. Apparently, this sort of actions are hurting the company’s image, so they announced that the MP4-12C and 12C Spyder supercars are offered with a 20 percent discount right away.
“McLaren today introduces revised pricing in Australia, leading the way in the super luxury sports car segment by benchmarking its pricing against competitive international markets,” McLaren regional director Ian Gorsuch said.
Initially priced at AU$493,100 (€383,434), the McLaren MP4-12C will have a new price tag of AU$398,000 (€309,484), while the AU$543,900 (€422,936) 12C Spyder model will cost AU$441,780 (€343,528).
