Yesterday we reported that the Mazda MX-5 GT concept that was unveiled at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed will become a production vehicle thanks to Le Mans specialists Jota Sport, who offered more details on their upcoming sportscar today.
Based on the Mazda MX-5 Roadster Sport Tech, the MX-5 GT is motivated by a 2.0-liter engine tuned to develop 203 BHP, which enables it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.4 seconds - 1.5 seconds faster than the standard version - while top speed is electronically limited at 140 mph (225 km/h).
The sportscar will also feature a carbon fiber rear diffuser, Bilstein dampers, and Anthracite alloy wheels, and leather Recaro seats, the latter available in three colors - while pearl, true red and aluminum silver metallic. Customers looking for a different look can opt for an optional carbon fiber front splitter, a carbon fiber rear spoiler and Ohlins suspension.
UK pricing for the Mazda MX-5 GT start at £29,995 and orders can be placed only at Lodge Garage Mazda in Aylesbury.
