Given all the assets of the previous-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata, it's no surprise that this model, codenamed NC, was with us for a full decade. And the current ND Miata gracefully replaced this in 2015, the now-retired car still receives plenty of attention these days. In fact, the rendering that now occupies our screens makes for the most recent example of this.
This pixel portrait places the Miata in an upper league, allowing it to take on sports cars such as the Honda S2000. Truth be told, the new front end of the Mazda even looks a bit like that of the S2K.
It's worth mentioning that Mazda did gift the third generation of the MX-5 with a "big boy" feature, as the little go-fast machine shared its front wishbone/rear multilink suspension setup with the Mazda RX-8. The NC Miata was also the first to be offered in retractable hardtop form along the traditional soft top version, while, on the features front, drivers could enjoy traction and stability control.
The Mazda has been gifted with a widebody kit that sees the meatier fenders flowing into the front and rear fascias rather than being introduced as standalone units, as is the case with certain NC Miata kits from the real world.
Speaking of which, the front fascia features an uber-aggressive approach, with the angular styling cues found here appearing to give the machine a modern twist, while sticking to the JDM-flavored design.
Of course, the custom wheels, which feature a Turbofan design and a deep concave profile, are sharp enough to draw attention on their own. As for the little details, these involve goodies such as the carbon hardtop or the front fender-relocated mirrors.
