After having its way with the latest-gen Range Rover recently and yet another Rolls-Royce Cullinan shortly after, Mansory has now concentrated its attention on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The three-pointed star brand's flagship sedan has received an exterior makeover, and compared to some of their existing builds, it doesn't look like a cheap Chinese knockoff.
For one, this Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which is in the S 580 configuration, has received a new paint finish dubbed the Kalahari Gold Metallic. Operation Desert Storm would have been a more suitable name for the color that suits this luxurious four-door rather well.
You can spot the other work that Mansory signed, can't you? It comprises the front bumper attachments around the side intakes, the new apron with side blades, and the added pair of LED strips. The side trim on the front quarter panels is also new, and the side skirts are fatter. Out back, it has a pair of spoilers on the roof and trunk lid, bumper attachments to the sides, and a new diffuser with incorporated quad exhaust tips. The 22-inch multi-spoke alloys in black round off the exterior makeover.
The interior is barely visible in the images released by Mansory on social media recently and features white leather upholstery on the seats, steering wheel, and probably other components. There's no way to tell you whether it was the tuner that gave it this upholstery, but it's clear that they signed the new entry sills, headrest cushions, and floor mats. After all, their logo is clearly visible on them and could be found on other parts of the cabin.
There's no word about the power of this tuned S-Class at all, so we can assume the V8 engine has remained untouched. You're looking at a bi-turbo unit with a displacement of 4.0 liters, which is hooked up to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 496 hp (503 ps/370 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque without any outside intervention. The S 580 4Matic takes 4.4 seconds to accelerate to 62 mph (100 kph) from rest and has a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph or 250 kph.
Another thing that Mansory hasn't said anything about is the pricing of these upgrades, but then again, you already know that anything vehicle that sports their signature is insanely expensive, don't you? Even without any aftermarket work, the Mercedes-Benz S 580 4Matic is very pricey, as it starts at $124,000 in the United States before factoring in the destination charge, options, and dealer fees. From $114,500, the S 500 4Matic becomes available, and for the most affordable Maybach-branded variant, you're looking at a minimum of $193,400. The range-topping Maybach S 680 4Matic has an MSRP of $$229,000.
