Luxgen7 MPV EV+ Breaks Cover

After unveiling the Luxgen7 SUV last month, the Taiwanese brand today took the wraps off their latest creation, the Luxgen7 MPV EV+. As you might have already guessed from the model’s designation, it is meant to be an electric vehicle, which Luxgen says it will offer unparalleled performance that surpasses all the other EVs on the market.

The 7 seater incorporates a 240 hp and 265 Nm torque AC induction motor that enables it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 90mp/h (145km/h).

Furthermore, the lithium-ion battery packs can offer the Luxgen7 MPV EV+ over 200 miles (300km) cruising range at a fixed speed of 25mp/h (40km/h) on a single charge.

EV technologies featured on the Luxgen7 MPV EV+ include the power management and transformation center, PEU (power electronic unit), which integrates the induction motor, charger, battery management system, and the ability to convert kinetic energy into electricity via a regenerative braking system.

The lithium-ion battery pack is characterized by a modularized design, and could discharge excess electricity back into the power grid to balance electricity utilization during peak and off-peak times.

As with all the other vehicles in Luxgen's range, the MPV EV+ is also fitted with the Think+ onboard computer system which offers video and audio entertainment, telecommunication, GPS navigation, as well as four advanced visual assistance systems including Eagle View+ (a 360 degree surveillance system), Side View+ (Blind Spot Monitoring System), LDWS+(Lane Departure Warning System) and Night vision+ (high sensitivity night vision enhancement system).

“In addition to its impressive power performance, the energy efficiency of the LUXGEN7 MPV EV+ is outstanding with an energy conversion rate at up to 80%.  The LUXGEN7 MPV EV+ strikes an amazing EER performance which is 1.7 times higher than a hybrid and diesel vehicle, and 2 times higher than a gasoline-powered vehicle,” a company statement reads.
