Luxgen Signs First International Distribution Agreement

Shortly after it debuted at the Dubai International Motor show, Taiwan’s first passenger automobile brand Luxgen managed to sign its first international distributorship agreement with Oman’s MHD (Mohsin Haider Darwish). MHD is, in fact, one of the most successful privately owned business houses in the region.

LUXGEN’s new distribution network in Oman will be managed by Mohsin Haider Darwish himself, owner and managing director of the company. MHD’s automotive division also comprises other brands including Land Rover, Jaguar and Volvo.

“Beyond the record-breaking sales success in Taiwan, we have also achieved a breakthrough in the international market development as well. This distribution agreement for Oman is just the beginning of our global marketing strategy, more importantly, it will elevate Taiwan’s automobile industry to the level never before reached,”
K.C. Hu, CEO of LUXGEN, said in a release.

David Aziz, Director of the Automotive Division of MHD, also attended the ceremony to extend his support and gratitude to the collaboration between the two local giants.

The first two models to launch in Oman in the fourth quarter of 2010 are the Luxgen7 MPV and the Luxgen7 SUV. In its home market of Taiwan, Luxgen even surpassed the overall sales volume of the entire Hyundai vehicle line-up with just a single MPV model, the Luxgen7.

LUXGEN is now targeting emerging markets around the world including the Middle East, China, Central America, Russia and South East Asia. Moreover, negotiations for the LUXGEN distributorship agreement in both Vietnam and the Dominican Republic are close to being finalized.
