Lotus Sponsors Cancer Figthing Foundation

Lotus expands the marketing campaign for its Evora saleshorse, as the company has decided to sponsor the Bob Champion 60:60 Challenge and support both the Injured Jockeys Fund and the Bob Champion Cancer Trust in their charity efforts.

The Bob Champion Cancer trust is a foundation created with the aim of detecting and treating male cancers. Lotus has decided to bring this problem to raise awareness amongst its male customer and not only.

The British company will offer Bob an Evora to use on his special charity journey: He will be visiting 60 racecourses in 60 days starting from Sunday, the April 18. Bob will drive the Evora to Ascot Racecourse where the first event is scheduled to take place. A 10,000 mile marathon will follow with Bob eventually returning to Ascot on Wednesday June 16th for the Royal Meeting.

During this trip, supporters for each event will be asked for a minimum donation of 50 pounds. Those who pay the money are not only allowed to enter the racecourse but are given special passes which allow them to enjoy multiple benefits, such as a behind the scenes presentation and an entry in a prize draw where they can win a five day trip to the 2011 Dubai World Cup and many others.

I thought that this would be a novel way to raise money for two very worthy charities as no one has visited 60 race courses in 60 days before!”, Bob said about the 60:60 challenge.

The Evora is a key product for Lotus, as it is the company's first new car in a long period of time, hence the carmaker's effort to advertise it.
