Lotus Confirms In-House Developed 4.8-liter V8 Engine for Esprit

Lotus has announced that it will build its own engines for quite a while an today the British automotive produce confirmed that the Elise, the first model from its new-age product offensive, will be powered by an all-new, in-house developed 4.8-liter V8 powerplant.
According to autoblog.it,  the fresh unit will develop between 580 and 630 hp, which means that we are dealing with forced induction, as it was expected, since this is the marker tendency (the aim is to increase efficiency).

The 4.8-liter V8 engine will be centrally-mounted in the Esprit, but it will also be used on other future Lotus models, such as the Eterne and Elite, where it will sit at the front.
