True fans of the cars that bear the symbol of the Trident know and appreciate the history of the brand. This is why Italian brand Montante Cicli has created a strictly limited series of racing cycles based on the Maserati 8CTF.

So, if you can’t handle all the stallions under the hood of a Maserati supercar, you might want to try powering yourself by pedaling one of these exquisite bicycles.

As said, the racing bikes from Montante mark the seventieth anniversary of the Maserati 8CTF victory at the Indianapolis 500, sporting the classic details including the wine-red frame of the Indianapolis-winning car of 1940.

Moreover, the Trident silver gray field in the hub of the circles is taken from that of the powerful three-liter supercharged engine. Other
highlights include the Maserati 30s written on the frame, the saddle, handlebars and loops of the pedals that are clad in leather to match the driver’s seat of the racing car.

According to its manufacturer via Bornrich.org, there will be only 200 Montante Maserati 8CTF cycles units made, each one numbered and carrying the name of its owner. The bicycles will be marketed by Upright Cycles in three sizes at a price of $3,872 in the best fashion stores around the world as well as on the Montante website.

The 8 Cilindri Testa Fissa (8-cylinder fixed head) engine was designed by Ernesto Maserati early in 1938. Maserati chose a three-litre supercharged engine, with twin Roots superchargers, and by 1939 was punching out a very impressive 365 bhp.

The 8CTF debuted at the 1938 Tripoli Grand Prix and performed well, even though the final result was not entirely impressive. However, the car still made it into the history books when Wilbur Shaw won the Indianapolis 500 in it in both 1939 and 1940.
