Toyota’s luxury division Lexus also had a productive March this year, with US sales going up 23.3 percent compared with the same month of 2013 in raw-volume and 28 percent on a daily selling rate. The automaker sold no less than 28,593 vehicles this March.
Regarding the first year quarter, Lexus posted total sales of 65,085 units, representing a 16.2 percent increase over the same period in 2013 on a DSR basis, and 14.7 percent volume-wise.

"New products are driving the growth in the luxury segment," said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager. “IS sales more than doubled in March and helped push Lexus to one of the biggest increases in the industry for the month.”

The 2014 Lexus IS compact sedan registered triple-digit gains, while the GS sedan went up 32 percent this March. The SUV branch went up almost 20 percent, with the RX being sold in nearly 10,000 units and the GX posting triple-digit gains.

Overall, Lexus seems to be doing very good lately thanks to its redesigned, more flamboyant models. And considering the luxury automaker will put two new models on sale this this year, NX and RC, sales will continue to grow. The RC will hit the market in autumn this year, while the NX will follow later.
