Toyota division sold 140,429 in February this year, making for a 5.8 percent decrease over the same month in 2013 on both a DSR and raw-volume basis.

“February auto sales emerged from a chill in the second half of the month, poising the industry for a strong March,” said Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager. “Boosted by consumer interest and strong truck sales, Toyota led retail sales this month.”

The Toyota Camry is the leader of the pack, with 29,000 units sold, while the new Corolla comes close with over 25,000. The truck segment is 3.5 percent up, with the 2014 RAV4 selling 23 percent more and making a best-ever February, new Highlander scoring a nearly 30% increase and putting it with the previous in best-ever February, while the 4Runner went third with 17 percent more units sold than the same month in 2013. The last of the pack is the Tundra with only 8% increase.

Lexus luxury division however is on the plus side, scoring 18,855 units sold, representing an 8.7 percent increase on both a DSR and raw-volume basis over February 2013.

"The luxury segment is off to a good start this year, showing across the board gains," said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager.  "The new IS continues to be one of the hottest cars in any segment, with sales more than doubling for the fourth straight month."

Leader of the pack here is the all new Lexus IS with triple-digit gains, while the GS model is up 42 percent. In SUV range, the RX posted sales of over 5,600 units while the GX posted triple-digit gains as well.
