Word has it Lexus has registered the RC 200t name as a trademark in Australia, which could mean that the new coupe will indeed arrive with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
According to Lexus Enthusiast, the RC 200t name was registered earlier this week under trademark #1574017, making it the third trademark for this vehicle following the RC 350 and the RC F. Back in 2012, when plans for a new turbo 2.0-liter unit were announced, Toyota said it will provide better fuel efficiency and power.
As we previously reported via Motor Trend
, the Lexus RC is expected to become available starting at $40,000 and with a choice of three engines - a turbocharger 2.0-liter, a hybrid 2.5-liter and a 3.5-liter V6. As for the high-performance RC F, it will be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 rated at 455 HP
and fetch at least $100,000.
