Word has it Lexus has registered the RC 200t name as a trademark in Australia, which could mean that the new coupe will indeed arrive with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
According to Lexus Enthusiast, the RC 200t name was registered earlier this week under trademark #1574017, making it the third trademark for this vehicle following the RC 350 and the RC F. Back in 2012, when plans for a new turbo 2.0-liter unit were announced, Toyota said it will provide better fuel efficiency and power.

As we previously reported via Motor Trend, the Lexus RC is expected to become available starting at $40,000 and with a choice of three engines - a turbocharger 2.0-liter, a hybrid 2.5-liter and a 3.5-liter V6. As for the high-performance RC F, it will be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 rated at 455 HP and fetch at least $100,000.
