If it happens that the tailgate of your Lexus RX won’t open when pressing the key fob button or the driver side dashboard button, there are two causes for this - either it's busted (which it’s pretty odd for a Lexus), or it may have accidentally been locked from a special button inside the glovebox.
So, as you have checked that your key fob battery is OK and it works properly, try opening it from the driver side tailgate-opener button.
If that doesn’t work, go to the passenger’s side and open the glovebox. Inside, there should be a small button on one of its sides which is the lock-toggle for the tailgate. Press it and go check the boot again using the key fob or dashboard button to open it.
Still not working? You must be one of the very few unlucky owner that confronts with this and you should go see the service.
