Lexus LS600h to Be Used for Prince Albert II of Monaco's Royal Wedding

This year is packed with royal wedding, and we are talking the opportunity to talk about love... of cars. The British royal couple will soon use a number of different coaches to travel in between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey for the ceremony, but there is another royal event taking place this year.

We are talking about Prince Albert II of Monaco, ruling monarch of the Mediterranean enclave, who has chosen something a bit more appropriate, given the fact that the small country is known for luxury, Formula 1 and casinos. We are talking about a Lexus, of course!

At the July 2nd wedding to Miss Charlene Wittstock, the royal pair will be riding around in a specially-prepared Lexus LS600h, complete with integrated flashing lights, the royal insignia and the valuable "MC 01" license plate.

"His Serene Highness takes a keen interest in encouraging innovative solutions for environmental protection and sustainable development around the world, founding the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in 2006. His Foundation supports more than 150 projects monitoring environmental evolution and protecting species endangered by climate change. It also provides assistance in water management in developing regions," Lexus says.

With its pioneering full hybrid technology delivering excellent CO2 efficiency and environmental performances, the LS600h is a good fit for the job at hand, as it can even parade around on pure electric power. "Lexus is pleased to contribute to the objectives defined by His Serene Highness and to help the Principality of Monaco to become an international reference in terms of sustainable mobility," the company press release states.

It seems that Monaco has taken a turn for the green, as Lexus has also become official supplier to His Serene Highness and his principality.
