Finally a Lexus compared with something else than a German vehicle. TFL Car took both a Lexus LS 460 and Jaguar XJL on the Ike Gauntlet test up in the Rocky Mountains.
The British luxury sedan is powered by a 3-liter supercharged V6 engine while the Lexus houses a normally aspirated V8 under its big hood, and they both put down almost the same amount of power through 8-speed automatic transmissions connected to all four wheels.
The LS delivered the power smoothly, aided by the gearbox which was constantly searching for the best gear while also keeping the cabin as quiet as possible even when they reached the Eisenhower tunnel.
Known for its slow depreciation due to high reliability, the LS still didn’t managed to win the hearts of the TFL guys. They prefer to stick to the Jag only because of its “passion.” Guess the guys are not too familiar with the “kaizen” spirit these L-badged machines are created.
