The GS is definitely The Lexus at the moment. The vehicle has just received a new entry-level version (albeit just for Europe), there is unofficial information indicating that Lexus could build a SC430 successor based on its platform and now the old rumor indicating that Lexus will fit a detuned version of the Leaf's V10 under its bonnet is back again.
Such a creation, would give BMW a proper rival for the new M5, even though it could come with less power. According to autocar, the vehicle would use a 4.6-liter of the LFA's 4.8-liter V10 unit, which could deliver around 450 hp.

However, the rumors might return to the obscure corners of the web pretty soon, as it is only based on the fact that Lexus insiders have told the aforementioned source that the carmaker "would love" to build a go-fast incarnation of the GS.
