Last year, the Lexus IS F performance sedan went out of production leaving the company with no such thing in their lineup. Don’t be sad though, because until the next generation (eventually) comes by, you’ll be able to get yourself a bigger GS F.
After we saw it being tested around the Nurburgring and even on the US roads with close to no camouflage, Lexus decided it’s worthless to keep us waiting until the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) debut next week and fully unveiled their new sport sedan - the GS F.

Although it’s built on the same GS you can buy today, the F version comes with extensive enhancements, including a sport tuned suspension, tuned steering and the same limited slip differential you get on the RC F, all offered as standard.

Speaking about the devil, the 5-liter V8 engine in the RC F gets fitted in the GS too, as we were expecting, and will also get mated to the same eight-speed automatic gearbox. Power figures remain the same, with the mill cranking 467bhp (348kW) at 7,100rpm and peak torque of 527 Nm (388 lb-ft) between 4,800 and 5,600rpm.

Preliminary data shows the GS F weighs almost the same as the RC F, tipping the scales at 1,830 kg (4,043 lb) compared to the latter’s 1,795 kg (3,958 lb). This means it should reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in roughly 5 seconds and a top speed of about 260 km/h (161 mph).

The interior changes are limited, the only additions we can see being a pair of RC F inspired sport seats as well as some carbon fiber trimmings. Overall, the GS F seems to be doing the same thing the IS F did - be a balanced sedan that can offer both track fun as well as a safe and reliable commute back home.

Check it out in the photos bellow and stay tuned for more info as soon as it will be available.
