When Lamborghini said its goodbyes to the Diablo back in 2001, it did so by creating a special edition model called the Special Edition Diablo 6.0 Liter VT, of which only 40 were built. Chassis number 40, the last of the batch was under the auctioneer’s block at the 2012 Scottsdale Auction in Arizona, where it managed to fetch $231,000.
This piece of Lambo history is a veritable museum piece, with only 12 original miles (about 19 km) on the clock. The car is virtually brand new, having been hidden from the world in a large climate controlled collection of an enthusiast. It’s even got the original factory-fitted seat and steering wheel covers on.
