Lancia Delta Integrale Shoots Massive Flames

The Lancia Delta Integrale is an icon, and not just a rally icon, because as a car, it represents a an age when Lancia made much more interesting cars, compared to what they have devolved into doing today. These two Integrales, captured on video by Marchettino are stunning - just seeing and hearing them is a real event!
Also, thanks to their rudimentary yet efficient anti-lag system, which always keeps the turbo in boost, these cars have a tendency to shoot massive flames out their exhausts. This only adds to the sense of occasion and drama which they project. The noise made by its rally-spec engine is also a very good one, especially for a four-pot motor, and each upshift is accompanied by backfiring from the engine, which sounds a lot like a gunshots - great stuff!

The Delta Integrale, in its rally-spec can be pushed to 500 hp - 600 hp without too many modifications to the two-liter engine, proof that the Italians used to be able to make truly robust and reliable cars. Nowadays, at any historic rally event, the Integrale attracts far more attention than virtually anything else, because, as we said at the beginning of the article, it really is an icon.
