Before looking from a deeper standpoint at the curious case of these renderings hinting at a modern-day Lancia Delta Integrale, please consider nobody's perfect.
That being said, let's proceed to decipher what Theophilus Chin tried to achieve when he started working on these renderings. Our guess is that he was motivated by the recent rumours related to FCA being interested in reviving the Lancia Delta Integrale.
Truth be told, we kind of disregarded what the rumor mill had to say about the Lancia Delta Integrale, simply because at this point, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles have a lot more work to do in other departments than focus on reigniting old flames.
Now, before the motorsport aficionados jump at our throat like a pack of hungry wolves, allow us to say the Delta Integrale is a long-time favorite of ours. I mean, it's hard to disregard those 46 WRC victories under its belt, coupled with winning the WRC Constructors Championship a whopping six times in a row between the 1987-1992 interval.
So, coming back to what the renderings have to offer, it's fair to say the designer acknowledges his failure in delivering an eye-friendly interpretation of the Lancia Integrale.
Just by looking at the images you'll be able to spot styling cues taken from the Skoda Fabia and its sibling, the Rapid Spaceback, and even a little bit of Audi S1 when it comes to the quad exhaust system.
Moreover, those taillights look a lot like what the Peugeot 508 has to offer in this department, so long story short, we're looking at a mix of features that simply don't seem to bond.
