China is basically the biggest consumer of Porsche Cayenne, and since the new Lamborghini SUV concept is based on its platform, it only makes sense for the latter to make its debut there. We finally have confirmation that the MLC, as we found out yesterday that it’s going to be called, will indeed debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April.
“Chinese customers love their big cars”, Christian Mastro, Lamborghini’s general manager for the Asia-Pacific region, told Bloomberg News. “All the brands are making cars more specific for the Chinese market.”
Bentley will soon also show us their own SUV concept, filled with seas of leather and wood. This will arrive in 2015, one year before the macho Lambo. So, another brand being diluted from its historic origins?
Not in China, as Giuliano Noci, vice director for the China campus of Milan Polytechnic, says customers there haven’t seen the heritage of history that comes with these brands for very long, so to them the SUVs are a natural progression.
