While the KTM 1290 Superduke R was one pf the best-kept secrets of the last months, we're now expecting a lot of hype for this prototype motorcycle. Not that it doesn't deserve all that's coming, now.
Here the first official video of the KTM 1290 Superduke R in action. We've watched it for several times now and still the initial idea has not changed a bit: this bike spells pure madness. Not only it sports the beast of an engine powering the amazing RC8 machine, but KTM's engineers managed to add in some more displacement, while making the new 1290 Superduke R lighter and more aggressive than any other bike to come from the Austrian manufacturer.
We even laughed wondering whether the KTM 1290 Superduke R has a non-drift mode; given the gargantuan amounts of power and torque, this monster will be almost impossible to be ridden in a casual manner... and by all means, no newbie or Sunday rider should be let in its seat.
We cannot get enough of this amazingly brutal bike which seems to appeal supermoto riders and racers alike, while making the hearts of pretty much everybody beat faster just by looking at it drift away.
