KTM 990 Super Duke (2005-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

The KTM 990 Super Duke was a naked motorcycle manufactured by the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer from 2005 until 2013 when it was replaced by the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.

In 2007, the bike received its first upgrade, including a slight reduction of the steering head and changes to the fuel injection for improved throttle response, smooth power delivery, and meeting emission standards. In addition, the range was improved, and the fuel tank capacity was increased.

Other improvements included radial mounted brake calipers and an updated instrument cluster, headlight, headlight fairings, tank fairings, and redesigned fuel tank. The 2005-2006 models were available with a black frame, silver swingarm, and Titanium, Black, and Orange fairings.

In 2012, the maker combined parts of the regular and R version and sold the bike as KTM

990 super Duke R. It featured several differences from the original model, like more power, a higher steering angle, less rear wheel travel, front and rear axle sliders, orange powder-coated frame, square buttons on the dashboard, and black-finished calipers, front stanchions, engine mounts, and swingarm.

The models manufactured between 2007 and 2011 were available with black or white frames, black swingarms (silver in the 2007 model year), and Orange, White, Olive, and Glossy Black fairings.

The bikes produced between 2012 and 2013 were available with an Orange frame, black swingarm, and White fairings.
