Well, here they are, the first official photos of KTM's latest project, the Superduke 1290 R prototype. The beast looks even better than what the video teaser showed, and we might say it is a quintessence of evil character.
The eccentric and blinding, aggressive red/orange color scheme stresses the zero-compromise of the KTM Superduke 1290 R and the plethora of in-your-face carbon fiber parts looks both inspiring and frightful.
The new beast is rumored to be capable of putting around 180 hp to the rear wheel when loaded with the custom Akrapovic racing exhaust which looks... interesting, to say the least. What's even nicer is the fact that the KTM Superduke 1290 R marks a debut for the Austrian manufacturer: the first fully-functional show bike ever to be produced by KTM.
We'll just have to wait for all the 2012 EICMA hype to be over and hopefully get more detailed info on the KTM Superduke 1290 R.
