The upcoming Koenigsegg One:1 will become the fastest production car in the world, company owner Christian von Koenigsegg revealed today.
Speaking to Business Week, Von Koenigsegg said the One:1 will capable of at least 450 km/h (280 mph), which will make it faster the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the current Guinness World Record holder for the fastest production car at 415 km/h (258 mph).

What’s more, the One:1 is also expected to be the fastest automobile in the world from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph), 0 to 300 km/h (186 mph), and from 0 to 400 km/h (248 mph). Believe it or not, Koenigsegg claims it will reach the latter in only 20 seconds, 25 seconds quicker than the Veyron.

No word on when the One:1 will become available to customers, but Von Koenigsegg said a prototype will be ready for testing by the end of the year. Pricing? Probably at least $2 million.

The Koenigsegg One:1, named like that because it will generate 1 bhp for every 1 kg of weight, will be powered by a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 that delivers about 1,400 bhp.
