Kingii is one simple solution that may prevent quite a lot of deaths by drowning. In hindsight, it is one of the "how come I didn't think about this before" gadgets, but it is here and is ready to save lives.
This appears to be the smallest wearable inflatable devised to date, and can be worn on either wrist without being cumbersome or annoying. Of course, there are also people who hate even wristwatches, but this is another story.

The wrist clasp is adjustable and will fit comfortably on almost any hand, be it that of a kid or an adult's one. Once adjusted to the proper size, the clasp is easy to unlock so that the Kingii can take its place on the hand.

On the strap, Kingii also has a small compass, whereas an emergency flute also becomes accessible once the floatation bag is deployed. Thanks to this flute, those in need can alert others around them and summon help.

Attached to the strap are the CO2 cartridge holder with the pull lever trigger mechanism and the bag pouch. The inflation bag is bright orange, increasing visibility on water and has a hexagonal shape that is easy to hold on to and grip.

Activating Kingii can be done both on the surface or above the water and while submerged. Pulling the lever perforates a casual CO2 canister that inflates the orange bladder in a matter or seconds. When submerged, Kingii will also pull the wearer to the surface, also offering extra buoyancy until help arrives.

The bag can stay inflated for around 48 hours, and can be effortlessly folded back into its plastic pouch before reusing. Recharging the Kingii is as simple as unscrewing a protective cap and the CO2 canister, inserting a fresh one and putting back the cap, while making sure that the pouch is closed correctly.

Kingii is in no way a motorbike-related gadget, but considering that so many riders will travel to places where they can swim, dive, surf, we thought it's nice to let them know. Obviously, Kingii is a nice safety device for pretty much anyone who thinks they might run into trouble while one water.

This life-saving gadget will set you back with €90 ($100), and it is supplied with two CO2 cartridges and a user manual. Its makers also say it is sufficient for a 130kg (285 lb) person; family packages are also available at discount prices.
