Kia cee'd Facelift Revealed, First Pictures Inside

Kia has just announced that the first facelift of its popular cee'd will be on display at the Frankfurt Auto Show next month. Additionally, the company also announced that the redesigned model will go on sale in the UK in early October and will also include the so-called ISG version featuring "Intelligent Stop and Go".

The full list of modifications will be officially rolled out ahead of the public launch at the show but, as you can see for yourselves in the adjacent photos, the car is sporting several exterior styling modifications. Redesigned headlights, new grille and rectangular fog lights are the first things you'll notice when looking at the new cee'd. The rear side of the car is basically the same as on the current model, with slight adjustments over the tail lights.

The new cee'd is 24 mm longer and boasts a new new steering wheel, new gear lever, all-red instrument illumination, a new centre console and new audio systems, plus dual-zone climate control air-conditioning. The star of the show is the Intelligent Stop and Go system, exclusively available for the 1.6-litre diesel engines, which idles the powerplant while not in motion. Thanks to the addition of this new feature, the cee'd has cut emissions to no less than 110 g/km.

"The new cee'd is 25 mm longer and is more distinctive in appearance with a stronger road presence. Following our established model range line-up, customers will enjoy a thoroughly revised interior including a new-style steering wheel and gear lever, all-red instrument illumination, a new centre console and new audio systems, plus dual-zone climate control air-conditioning," Kia Motors UK Limited Marketing Director, Simon Hetherington said.
