“No big deal, just taking a private 747,” Kim says in one of the videos she posted to Instagram. “This is how [Kanye] does it now. Only 747s, private. I’ve never even heard of this, but whatever.”
She goes on to call the double decker Kanye’s “floating office” and bragging about being able to do lounges on the hallway. She even calls the dining tables “cute” as she gives fans a glimpse inside the huge and mostly empty aircraft.
The fact is that a 747 can sit up to 660 people, so imagine the huge carbon print of the aircraft for flying just a handful of people. It’s true, Air Force One is also a modified 747, but we’re talking about the President of the United States and his closest advisers here. On the other hand, we have a rapper with temper issues and a reality star with a scandalous past. It’s apples and oranges.
Twitter users did not fail to notice this and they were quick to point it to the couple. You can see some of the reactions at the bottom of the page. Kanye and Kim may have recently donated $500,000 to wildfire rescue efforts, but spending $2-3 million to rent a huge 747 undoes whatever good they did to fight climate change.

All I’m thinking is what a waste of jet fuel, resources, environmental harm, etc etc etc.
Smh. So obnoxious and unnecessary.
I’m missing the connection. @KimKardashian and @kanyewest donate 500000$ to wildfire relief efforts, but take a 747 airplane privately. Will someone explain to them how the climate crisis work? Please?

@KimKardashian @kanyewest renting an entire 747 for themselves is so unbelievably wasteful it makes me sick. Leaving a much larger carbon footprint than they need to. You have the power and wealth to travel sustainably, and instead you do the opposite. For what? An instagram flex?

Dear @KimKardashian & @kanyewest. You just boarded a private(!)747 for a 'long flight'. How much did it cost you, 2-3 million dollars? Maybe it would be fair if you donated an equivalent amount to help the climate recover from the several hundred tonnes(!) of CO2 you just caused pic.twitter.com/bFNxJrFtqj
