The Nissan Juke 16GT and 16GT FOUR sport a new 1.6 liter engine and the Xtronic CVT 6-speed manual gearbox, being essentially equal in performance to a 2.5 liter engine, but with greater fuel economy. The 16GT FOUR features an advanced version of Nissan's ALL MODE 4x4i system, complete with the latest torque vectoring system, offering more precise and nimble cornering.
The newly developed MR16DDT engine combines an advanced direct injection mechanism and a compact but efficient turbocharger with Continuously Variable-valve Timing Control (CVTC) making intake and exhaust more efficient. The fine balance between acceleration, response and fuel efficiency provided the engine with a maximum power output of 190 PS @ 5600 rpm and maximum torque of 240 Nm (177 lb-ft)@ 2000-5200 rpm.
ALL MODE 4x4i is a new 4 wheel drive system that ensures optimum torque delivery to both front and rear wheels. Electronically controlled coupling for rear wheels controls torque distribution between left and right wheels. The system also reduces understeer by sending more driving force to the outer rear wheel in a corner.
The Juke 16GT and 16GT FOUR also feature the Xtronic CVT 6-speed manual gearbox with synchronized rev control. Rear disk brakes have been fitted and new 17'' aluminum wheels have been added.
Also featured on the new 16GT series is Juke's Intelligent Control Display that shows turbo boost pressure, lengthwise and lateral gravity and other useful information that make the driving experience more pleasant.
The new 16GT/16GT FOUR are available in 8 colors, including Steel Blue Metallic, which is an exclusive feature for 16GT series.
Pricing in Japan starts at 2,189,250 yen (about US$27,200) for the 16GT and 2,451,750 yen (US$30,500) for the 16GT FOUR.
