Now that the craziness around the Shelby GT500 has tempered down a bit, it’s time for the true track car to come back into focus. The 2013 Mustang Boss 302 came to Jay Leno’s Garage this week, together with a Ford man to talk the talk.
Mustang Chief Engineer Dave Pericak gives Leno the walkaround of this 444 horsepower machine that’s basically designed for the track, with upgraded suspension, Brembo brakes and a retuned motor.

For 2013, the Boss 302 gets a removable grille cover and fresh 19-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli PZero tires that are ideal for track use. The output of the 2013 Mustang Boss 302 has been raised a little to 444 hp from the same 5-liter V8, which gets sent to the back via a six-speed manual.

The team at Ford wanted to offer the Mustang enthusiasts something really special, and you have to admit this delivers quite a lot.
