The first Jaguar F-Type sportscars have arrived in UK dealerships today, following a spectacular handover event in Coventry, where a 1.5-mile long F-Type procession circled the city’s ring road.
Commemorating a similar delivery that took place in 1961 when the Jaguar E-Types were sent to showrooms, 59 F-Type sportscars were arranged in a giant “F” in a car park and were then led through the Coventry rind road by their iconic predecessor.
According to the British automaker, the cars involved in the procession are worth a total of £4.7 million (€5.5 million) and have a combined output of 23,560 HP. To reach their respective dealerships, the 59 vehicles had to travel a total of 7,141 miles.
Awarded with the 2013 World Car Design of the Year at the New York International Auto Show, the Jaguar F-Type can be ordered starting from £58,500 in the UK and $69,000 in the US.
