It's Nearly Halloween, so Everybody Tries to Scare You. Not Jeep, Though

Tomorrow it's Halloween, the only day of the year when a zombie Apocalypse could break out without anyone noticing for a few good hours, so all companies that want to sell you something are going to prepare special treats.
Commercially speaking, "The All Hallow's Evening" ranks up there with the likes of Christmas, so it's not something you can afford to miss on. Besides, it gives you the opportunity to use more interesting imagery than the Birth of Christ. No more jolly old men dressed in red, snowflakes or reindeer pulling sleds. Instead, you've got ghouls, gargoyles, wraiths, vampires, and, of course, zombies.

Well, thanks to modern TV and video games, we're currently under a bit of a zombie overdose, but there's something about seeing slow-moving brain-eating mindless human beings that never gets old. Plus, zombies also possess one other great characteristic: they can be both scary and funny.

Considering the title of this article, there are no prizes for guessing which of the two sides Jeep made use of. But it's not like the SUV specialist made it easy for us to guess: the commercial starts in a pretty gloomy way, with your typical shots of a zombie-infested urban area - in this case, a car park.

It's not long before the object of the commercial spot joins the fun, and it's a Jeep Renegade - the smallest model on offer from the American brand that we loved so much when we test-drove it last year. Only this one isn't bright orange, but Hyper Green. That's right, Jeep UK is now offering the possibility of having your Renegade in a color that would make a lime jealous, and is letting you know that via a Halloween-themed clip.

Just when you expect the Renegade to plow through the crowd of undead people desperate to escape, a funky music soundtrack kicks in, and it all gets a bit awkward. It's so awkward, though, that it actually manages to be quite funny. I mean, if you don't find the driver high-fiving the zombie hilarious, we sure wouldn't like sitting next to you at a dinner party.
