Infiniti has teased us with a plethora of images and all sorts of hints about its Q60 Concept up until now but no official word about what will be used under the bonnet was leaked so far. Today, we caught a break but we’re still far off in terms of knowing exactly what to expect from the new car from Nissan’s luxury brand.
According to the company, the Q60 will have a 3-liter V6 mill with two turbochargers and direct injection that will deliver ‘exceptional performance’. What they mean by that is a complete mystery at the moment but we could expect close to 400 horsepower on the most potent version.

We’re expecting the engine to be used in a variety of power guises too and we have a suspicion that this is one mill made in collaboration with Mercedes as part of the two companies’ recent agreement.

Furthermore, Infiniti claims that this new ‘heart’ is part of an entirely new range that aims at delivering the same or even better performance than before in smaller packages with more efficiency. It’s basically their way of dealing with the downsizing trend of today.

Leaving the engine’s performance away (we still don’t know what the output will be) we couldn’t help but drool over the sexy curves of the car.

The two-door fastback has styling cues from the Q80 Inspiration concept that impressed everyone when it was originally unveiled. The low roofline and LED headlamps are extremely similar come to think of it.

With 184.6 inches in length, 73.4 inches wide and 53.9 inches tall it’s a sleek appearance that reminds us of the Q50 Eau Rouge too, especially if you’re to look at the front fenders, air intakes and the exhaust pipes.

As far as the interior details go, the materials used are of the best quality Infiniti can offer at the moment. The instrument panel is wrapped in black and white leather while the door panels are featuring a double hand-stitched motif that looks amazing.

In the back, the seats are individualized and they also feature the best leather available in Japan at the moment. Word is we’re going to see the car in the flesh tomorrow at the Infiniti stand. Don’t worry we’ll be there to bring you live pictures of it.
