Infiniti G37 Coupe Goes Wild

Wanting to catch up with Lexus and Acura, the Infiniti family will soon receive a new member, the G37 Coupe. Nissan, the parent company of the Infiniti brand, have just revealed the full details of this luxury coupe, to become available this summer - probably in August - not before making its debut in the New York International Auto Show.

Probably most of you are interested to know what kind of engine this car will have, and most of all, how much power will it have. Well, know that the new G37 Coupe will have a 3.7 liter VVEL 24 valve DOHC V6 engine, estimated to produce up to 330 horsepower. Its maximum torque is said to be about 366 Nm (270 lb-ft), all of this supported by the Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) intake camshafts and the Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) which allows the engine's revs go up to 7500 rpm.

This 3.7 liter engine can be coupled to a 5 speed automatic transmission or to a 6 speed manual, and the G37 Coupe Journey (the version with the Sport Package) and the G37 Coupe Sport 6MT can be equipped with a rear viscous limited-slip differential. These two models can also have the 4-Wheel Active Steer system, but all versions will have Standard Vehicle Dynamic Control.

Four ventilated disc brakes, ABS, EBD and BA are nothing out of the ordinary, but the G37 Coupe Journey with Sport Package and G37 Coupe Sport 6MT brakes with 14 inch rotors and 4 piston front calipers and 13.8 inch rotors with 2 piston calipers are a whole different story. All of this sitting on 18 inch aluminum alloy wheels linked to 225/50VR18 all-season tires.

Of course, the G37 Coupe Journey with Sport Package and G37 Coupe Sport 6MT (the sportier versions of the new G37 Coupe) can get 10 spoke 19 inch rims with 225/45WR19 front tires and 245/40WR19 rear tires.

On the interior, the standard features include a 7.0 inch monitor with Rear View Camera, leather seats (Wheat, Graphite or Stone coloured), 8 way adjustable driver seat, and 4 way adjustable passenger seat. On the sportier versions of the G37, there are 14 way adjustable driver seat and 8 way adjustable passenger seat. As for your audio enjoyment, the 11 speaker Bose system with 3 way door speaker and 10 inch woofers is accountable. Voice activation navigation system and Bluetooth hands-free phone system also account as standard.

Safety features include the standard front seat and roof mounted front and rear curtain side impact supplemental air bags, front seat Active Head Restraints, and retracting brake pedal to help reduce lower leg injuries in a severe crash.
