There's nothing new with the announcement that Infiniti will reveal the Q30 compact in Frankfurt, but the brand just took its time to tease the car on Facebook with an official picture.
It's not the first official photo showing the Q30, but this time we get a better look at the car's side profile, as the first picture was taken from the front.
In any case, we won't start describing the picture now because you can examine it as long as much as you want. However, allow us to add that we see a lot of Mazda-resembling styling cues, but maybe that's just us. Instead of beating the bush on this matter, we'd like to tell you more about the upcoming Q30.
The model will be assembled in Sunderland, along with its more rugged brother, the QX30. Both cars use underpinnings from Mercedes-Benz: the Q30 is based on the same architecture as the A-Class while the QX30 shares its platform with the Mercedes-Benz GLA.
If we are to compare the Q30 with the A-Class, there's clearly more boldness in favour of the Japanese model, mostly because of the narrow headlamps, a sharply pointed front fascia design and a more dynamic appearance overall.
So far, Infiniti didn't provide intel on engines and transmissions, but we can speculate as much as we want until official info drops during this year's Frankfurt Motor Show.
On that note, we expect the Q30 to embrace a selection of four-cylinder turbo petrol and diesel mills from Nissan. The all-wheel drive system could come from Mercedes-Benz but only on higher power output variants, along with Daimler's 7G-DCT 7-speed automatic transmission.
