If you though that the new two-tone colors for the 2015 Indian machines and the recently introduced Roadmaster dresser were about all there was to Indian for the next season, think again. There is at least one more bike to be unveiled, most likely a striped-down roadster-ish machine. If the 2015 Roadmaster grins at the Harley’s Electra Glide, then we can presume that the new bike will rival the VRSCD Nightrod.
Indian has uploaded a video teaser showing Rich Christoph, Industrial Designer, and he mentions that the new bike will answer a “question that’s been asked for a long time from a lot of riders.” He also speaks about not “sacrificing power and adrenaline in a spirited ride” and this leads to a very sensible presumption: Indian is preparing a new version of the Scout for us, or at least a bike derived from the old roadster.

Still, judging by the way things go at Indian, in case the old Scout is the base for the new muscle cruiser, it’s very possible that the name will be retained. Indian’s heritage goes back a long time for many of the older models and abandoning the old names everybody knows is definitely a bad idea. The Roadmaster was introduced in 1947, but the 2014 bike still bears the same badge, linking all the past glory with the present-day resurrection of the brand.

The official website shows the 5th bike in a crate on the beach, with the 2 August 2014 date on it, obviously pointing out that the official unveiling of the new bike will be in the first day of the 2014 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. After introducing the all-new Chiefs and Chieftain at Sturgis, Indian has made it clear that this time and place will become the standard for unveiling new machinery from now on. So what do you say: a new Scout or something else?
