Right now, you cannot say for sure that too many exciting things are happening at Bugatti. Sure, they're an haute-couture representative of the automotive industry, so there's always something to discuss – but we're still waiting for a new model introduction.
If you check out their news stream, Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. is currently preoccupied with 'trivial and mundane stuff' like explaining their process of playing with carbon fiber, talking about their official pilots, debuting an all-new Bugatti eyewear collection at SILMO Paris 2023, or "celebrating the enduring legacy at the 40th anniversary Bugatti Festival in Molsheim."
Meanwhile, we are still waiting to see what comes next after the Chiron, Divo, Bolide, W16 Mistral, and all the other Chiron-derived models. After all, now they are in cahoots with Rimac and Porsche as part of the larger Bugatti Rimac group. Well, if the company doesn't want to give us an upfront answer in the real world, no worries; the imaginative realm of digital car content creators will quickly solve the puzzle.
Some independent artists believe the next move for Bugatti will be to enter the exclusive world of ultra-luxury super-SUVs. As such, the company could easily outshine models like the Aston Martin DBX707, Bentley Bentayga, Ferrari Purosangue, Lamborghini Urus, or Rolls-Royce Cullinan, among others. But with the advent of the EV revolution, is that the right move – especially when Bugatti has retired the W16 engine from production?
Not exactly. So, the good folks over at car.design.trends have recently focused our attention on an unofficial Bugatti proposal done by Cole Kessel, who uses AI creatively under the moniker colekessel_. He is quite passionate about Mercedes-Benz, as far as we can tell, so we also uploaded one of his cool design ideas with the three-pointed star as the CGI focus. But the main attraction here is something else entirely – a Bugatti EV with four doors.
The design project was imagined as a direct tribute to the three decades that have passed since Bugatti Automobili S.p.A. introduced the Bugatti EB 112 concept of a four-door fastback saloon in 1993. It was followed by Bugatti Automobiles' own EB 218 in 1999 and 16C Galibier in 2009, but the idea of a Bugatti limousine has yet to materialize. Well, that happened now – albeit only across fantasy land.
Over there, Bugatti will introduce the 'Napon' (which means 'voltage' in Croatian) limousine later this year – a model created in collaboration with Rimac as the company's first-ever EV. According to the vision shared by the pixel master, this wild suicide-door saloon will be the first Bugatti model on Volkswagen's SSP (Scalable Systems Platform), sharing its underpinnings with the second generation of the Porsche Taycan but also featuring a rumored output of no less than 1,700 horsepower!
Quite a wishful thinking dream, right? Well, at least we know the tools used by the author – he developed the Bugatti project with Midjourney AI and then filled the background with Photoshop's generative AI.
