Hyundai Reports Strong i10 Demand in India, Adds Petrol Automatic Model

For those of you who aren't familiar with this model, the Grand i10 is based on the 2014 Euro-spec i10 hatchback and has a stretched wheelbase, sitting between the i10 and i20. Just two months after the car went on sale there, they have 10,000 orders/month and have a customer waiting list.
This has prompted Hyundai India to bump production, and also to add a new model. The Grand i10 automatic has been launched, which uses a 1.2-liter Kappa engine with 82 bhp (85 PS) delivered through a 4-speed automatic box.

The move is not totally unexpected from a technological point of view, since the European Kia Picanto offers the same 1.2-liter plus 4-speed automatic.

Local media reports tell us there are two version of the i10 auto: Grand Sportz AT and Grand Asta AT, priced at Rs 5.64 lakh and Rs 5.92 lakh respectively. An earlier rumor we shared with you points at a diesel auto coming, maybe later this month.
