Water and cars don't get along very well. Some drivers tend to forget that. Fortunately for us, this overly confident person takes their Ford Focus through a slightly flooded ford and reminds us why dialing down at the right time can save us a ton of money. They also get splashed by a Ford Ranger, which just adds insult to injury.
There's no beating around the bush about it – some drivers just don't care about their cars. That's especially true if those vehicles are company property and do not require repairs to be made by the one sitting behind the steering wheel.

A good example in this regard comes from the United Kingdom, specifically Nottinghamshire. The country is famous for its water crossings, and car owners must deal with them more often than others worldwide.

As expected, some momentarily forget that they need to adjust their speed when the fords are temporarily flooded and go through these shallow bodies of water like they are out boat racing.

Sadly, some must endure the consequences of their actions. Things get quite pricey in a few cases, like for the Ford Focus driver you're about to see in the video below.

The young driver probably intended to put on a show for those sitting on the sidelines with their phones and cameras out and ended up needing to be towed out of the water. He did, however, make a splash, which provided us with some exciting footage to watch. Unfortunately, it wasn't good for his car.

The old hatchback lost power almost immediately, and it abruptly went into reverse. That signals a hydrolock and might even translate into a cracked engine block. The powerplant might have attempted to compress water, which is often synonymous with catastrophic failure.

Still, a Ford Ranger driver made matters worse by doing the same thing with their pickup truck. However, they did not account for the young driver trying to hook their vehicle onto a passerby's SUV. The young person was quick enough to react and avoid getting wet from head to toe, but it still showed that we need more solidarity on the road.

If you ever find yourself in such a scenario, it would be great to remember that driving through flood water is possible only when the tires touch the ground. If the water level can't be determined safely, finding an alternative route is better.

If going through a body of water is doable, enter it slowly. Then, keep the acceleration constant without increasing the car's speed. Test the brakes once you're in the clear to ensure they are not affected. You should be good to go if the engine doesn't make any weird sounds.

Also, it's generally a good idea to know your vehicle's water fording capabilities ahead of time.

Car shows on TV and his father's Fiat Tempra may have been Florin's early influences, but nowadays he favors different things, like the power of an F-150 Raptor. He'll never be able to ignore the shape of a Ferrari though, especially a yellow one.
