Due to their location fog lights tend to crack, chip or even break from rocks or other debris you may encounter, especially when going off-road.
This tutorial will show you how to replace the foglight or its bulb on a Toyota Sequoia. You will need a 10mm socket with ratchet and extender, flat screwdriver and a pair of pliers. Of course, to facilitate your access to the foglight, you can use a jack or an elevator. Here is what it needs to be done:
- Jack up the car and secure its position
- Underneath the bumper, in front of the tire, there is a protective plastic bit held by three bolts which you need to unscrew and remove
- Take out the plastic cover and now you have gained access to the back of the foglight
- If you just have to replace the bulb, rotate and pull out the the socket, replace the bulb and put it back
- If you need to take out the whole assembly there are three anchoring points holding it in place
- Pry its hinging points with the screwdriver according to the video
- Use the pliers to undo the last anchor and you can take the whole assembly out
- Replace what it’s broken and mount everything in reverse order.
