Decided to disassemble your Toyota VVTi engine? Here’s a tutorial on how to take out the crankshaft bearings in order to pull out the crankshaft, rods and pistons.
Unlike other engines, Toyota VVTi engine’s crankshaft bearings are integrated into the lower detachable engine block section.

So, in order to take it out, you’ll need to remove the oil pan as well as the oil pump intake. From there, it’s pretty simple, all you need are some sockets and a ratchet to unscrew all the bolts that are holding the bearings attached to the engine block.

Check the video bellow for detailed instructions.
