The oil pump’s intake is basically a bent metal pipe with a filter at the end which goes right down in the oil pan of the engine to absorb the oil and send it throughout the engine.
Sometimes, the filter at its end can get clogged with impurities, but you can take the whole thing out and wash it with water at high pressure.
In order to reach the oil pump intake, you’ll first need to remove the engine’s oil pan. After that, all you need is a 10mm socket wrench to remove the three nuts holding it in place.
